JD Ford & Company was retained by the owner of Machine Design Services, Inc. to identify a purchaser to facilitate his retirement and provide the Company with necessary capital to enable its further growth. The Company was a leader in the design manufacturing and installation of material handling systems for the newspaper publishing industry. JD Ford prepared the Company for sale, including coordinating an extensive due diligence on the pre-sale portion of the engagement, working closely with the Company's accountants to prepare audited financial statement in accordance with general accounting principles and recast the financial statements to reflect economize earnings. JD Ford identified strategic buyers for the Company, ultimately assisting the Company in the sale of its assets to a large systems integrator, specializing in material handling systems. The transaction was completed after 18 months from the start of the engagement.
